Mail box happiness!

Wow! I got the nicest package in the mail from Sandy today! Look at this- she sent me a roll of this incredibly wonderful irridescent plastic film for making dragonfly wings. This stuff is so awesomely pretty, that I'm totally hypnotized by it. The colors... electric blue, gold, fuschia... depending upon how you hold it and look at it, the colors shift and dance. I only hope that I will be able to make something fantastic enough to live up to this stuff! Sandy also sent some lovely batik fabric (fabric, yes!!!!), this gorgeous colorful yarn that I keep fondling here (fiber, texture!), and last but not least- these butterflies and berries printed on fabric. My imagination has been working over time ever since! A thousand thank you's go out to Sandy for sending this over the pond from the U.K. (^.^)/"

PS: This just totally made my day today because I am still arm wrestling with a couple of French administrative offices who shall remain nameless- if I "win", I get the graphic design training classes I've been wanting for so long... but as of today they're still making me squirm.

Do you have a hard time getting batiks, cotton for quilting or other fiber art materials? I love those silk yarns...I just used the last of mine today on a very textured piece.

I'm curious as to how you'll use the plastic film for wings. I saw the dragonfly you made, maybe I missed the part about the wings.
You're not on the Yahoo group LMT by any chance are you? I just did a swap with a gal on there from Denmark. I anxious to see what I get from another country!

Be careful using the silk yarn - I just machine couched a double thread of it to a piece I'm working on, and found it is hard on the needle (very tightly woven and dense). I also got stabbed by a piece of wood woven into it! However, it is incredibly gorgeous and the colors are so rich, that it is still a favorite to work with. Have fun!
