I began making these fabric post cards after reading an article in the Summer 2004 issue of Quilting Arts magazine. This led me to "art2mail.com" (lots of eye candy!), which led me to a swap, and now I'm hooked. I think that when the fiber card swap is over, I'll continue making these. They're addictive, a great way to try out new ideas, and I like working small scale. I'll be adding more images to my postcard gallery often. This heart card was a birthday card, and did not go through the mail. A good thing too, because the gold heart shape is made out of hot glue which I gold waxed so I'm sure it would have fallen off in the mail.
That's what happened to this butterfly card: on it's way across the Atlantic to California, the little gold seal at the right got ripped off.
ahhh! its great to find another fiber blog! thanks for posting a comment on my site. i love the fabric postcards...did you stop by the postmarkdart.com website? or check out my cards on my webshots album? looking forward to future reading from your blog...hangeth in ;)

These are great - is doing the edges fiddly? I think it would drive me a bit twisty - or is it perfectly acceptable to leave them as is - curious minds want to know

Thanks for the comments guys! The postcard edges aren't as hard to do as you might think. I use my Husqvarna Lily 555 and a little patience. Check out Karoda's postcards by the way, they're wonderful! Karoda, I found your blog by (happy) accident :o)
Thanks for telling me about the postmarkdart.com website by the way!
